Emerald Downs stakes schedule

The 90th edition of the Longacres Mile is the highlight of a 20-race stakes series totaling $1,075,000 at Emerald Downs for the 51-day meeting running from April 27 to September 7, 2025.

The entire stakes schedule is consolidated over four Sundays with six events on July 20 and August 17, along with quadruple-headers on June 22 and September 7.

The $125,000 Longacres Mile, the Northwest’s premier race, headlines the six stakes on Aug. 17. Dubbed Championship Sunday, this day highlights competitions across all six divisions: 2-year-old colts and geldings, 2-year-old fillies, 3-year-old colts and geldings, 3-year-old fillies, older fillies and mares, along with older horses racing in the Longacres Mile.

The older horse division kicks off with the $50,000 Budweiser Stakes at six furlongs on June 22, continues with the $50,000 Governor’s Stakes at 6 ½ furlongs on July 20, and culminates in the Longacres Mile four weeks later.

The schedule features four stakes each for older horses and older fillies and mares, along with three stakes for both 3-year-old colts & geldings and 3-year-old fillies. Additionally, it includes three stakes for 2-year-old colts & geldings and three for 2-year-old fillies. While the number of stakes for 2-year-olds remains consistent with last year, the first events—the $50,000 Angie C Stakes and the $50,000 King County Express—are set to occur two weeks later this year on July 20.

This year, both the $50,000 Muckleshoot Tribal Classic and the $50,000 Muckleshoot Tribal Distaff are open events. Additionally, special races for Washington-breds will take place on August 2 and 3 as part of the Washington series Showcase.

Alongside 20 Thoroughbred stakes, Saturday, Aug. 16, showcases two Quarter Horse stakes: the $40,000 AQHA Racing Championship Challenge and the $30,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge.

Emerald Downs’ 30th season begins on Sunday, April 27, and continues through Sunday, September 7.
