August sees 5.5% increase in betting and 7.4% increase in prize money

Total betting in August increased by 5.53%, and total available prize money went up by 7.38% compared to August 2023. The increase was partly due to having an additional Saturday in 2024 (five in 2024 versus four in 2023) during the month. Other performance indicators, compared to July 2023, include: paid prize money (+8.37%), the number of race days (+1.71%), the number of races (+0.87%), the number of starts (+1.61%), and the average field size (+0.72%).
