Juvenile Fillies and Turf Sprint fields reduced

Non Compliant and Out On Bail have scratched from their races on Oct. 29. Non Compliant, an undefeated winner of the Oct. 5 Oak Leaf Stakes at Santa Anita Park, was the 9-2 third choice in a 10-horse field. Co-owner Georgia Antley Hunt confirmed the news on Facebook.

"Well, the highs are like mountains in this game, and the lows are pretty low," the post said. "Something came up on the PET scan that wasn't right and her safety is the most important thing!"

Hunt stated that the filly will enjoy a 60-day break before targeting the Kentucky Oaks (G1) on May 2 at Churchill Downs.

"She had a hot foot. You have to be perfect."

The scratch leaves Baffert with one Juvenile Filly, Zedan Racing Stables’ Nooni, who was second to Non Compliant in the Oak Leaf and won the Sorrento Stakes (G3). She is Baffert’s only chance at a third Juvenile Fillies win, the first since 2007.

Case Chambers, Paradise Farms, and David Staudacher's Out On Bail was also scratched Tuesday.

"He was lame this morning," trainer Mike Maker told BloodHorse. "Upon doing some diagnostics, we found a chip in his knee, so he had to be scratched. We'll have surgery to remove it and should be fine; looks like a minimal injury."

Tiz the Law’s son will have surgery in Kentucky, flying back on Nov. 2. Winner of the Skidmore Stakes in August, Out On Bail finished second in both the Rosie’s Stakes on Sept. 7 and the Indian Summer Stakes on Oct. 6. He was Maker’s sole entrant in this year’s Breeders’ Cup.

Pali Kitten can now enter the race. A two-time winner in three starts, Pali Kitten last won the Speakeasy Stakes at Santa Anita on Oct. 5 for trainer Doug O’Neill and owners Robert Baumbauer, James Cahill, Scott Knight, Richard Sutcliffe Jr., Robin Sutcliffe, and Kelli and Timothy Walsh.
