Following a successful broadcast of the 2023 Mouttet Mile on America’s Day at the Races, the acclaimed national television show produced by NYRA airing on the FOX Sports family of networks, NYRA has committed to expanding television coverage of high-quality international racing in Jamaica and elsewhere around the world.

The Mouttet Mile Invitational, a Grade 1 event for 3-year-olds and up over one mile, boasts the largest purse in the English-speaking Caribbean at $250,000 for 2024. This year’s edition is scheduled for December 7, 2024.

In addition to live coverage and on-site analysis from Caymanas Park of the Mouttet Mile and Grade 3 Chairman’s Plate Invitational, America’s Day at the Races will highlight Jamaica's natural beauty and historical sites, creating a comprehensive viewing experience that celebrates both the sport and the culture of the island.

Beyond the high-quality racing found at Caymanas Park, recent capital investment by track operator Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) have succeeded in elevating the track to international standards for racing participants and fans alike.

"We were incredibly pleased with the output and reception of last year's Mouttet Mile, which aired to a US audience for the first time thanks to NYRA and FOX Sports,” said Solomon Sharpe, SVREL Chairman. “We're optimistic about the growth of racing in Jamaica and are excited to play a part in bringing this world-class event to an international stage.”

Both the Mouttet Mile and Chairman’s Plate will feature in an international edition of NYRA’s Cross Country Pick 5 wager planned for December 7.

"Expanding the distribution and reach of quality thoroughbred racing is the primary focus of NYRA’s partnership with FOX Sports,” said Tony Allevato, NYRA Chief Revenue Officer. “This partnership aligns with that goal, and we look forward to presenting live television coverage of this year’s Mouttet Mile from Caymanas Park.”

Viewers can look forward to commentary and insights at Caymanas Park from NYRA’s Sr. Racing Analyst Andy Serling alongside Acacia Clement, NYRA Television Analyst and Reporter.

At Aqueduct Racetrack, live coverage of the lucrative Cigar Mile Day card on America’s Day at the Races will begin at 11 a.m. on December 7 and include four stakes worth $1.2 million in combined purse money.
