About Pick Pony's unique single-page cheat sheet

Pick Pony Past Performances sheets include a unique single-page summary of each race that includes all the vital statistics on a single card with each horse ranked according to our proprietary artificial intelligence recommendation. We also include two (three for Platinum subscribers) different AI-generated rankings so you can choose which one works best for your track and/or race type. Below is an example of the report.

Each horse's most critical statistics are included on a card. Each statistic includes an A-F rating that relates to the statistic to other horses in the race. The larger cards (top row) are generated using Pick Pony's "algorithm 1", the Artificial Intelligence model we prefer for most races.

1 - The horse's name is accompanied by the number of days since their last race in brackets. Underneath this is one of the most important stats - the horse's speed rating, The letter "A" in the example below indicates this horse's speed rating is among the best of all horses in this race.

2 - The next block includes two statistics - the horse's average finish position and Pick Pony's proprietary AI-generated Peak Performance rating. In the example below, horse #2 averages a second place finish in his prior races which is given a "B" rating and has a Pick Pony Peak Performance rating of 70 with an "A" rating which puts him among the top horses in this race.

3 - The middle block contains the horse's post position followed by its morning odds. The post position is color-coded according to the standard gate color.

4 - Block 4 contains several pieces of critical handicapping information. On the left side is the horse's feet-per-second (fps) for both sprints and routes. The right-hand block contains the jockey and trainer's in-the-money-percentage - an excellent indicator of the trainer and jockey's effectiveness.

5 - The last block contains the horse's pace ratings for both E1, E2, and LP pace ratings. You can see in the example below, #2's early and late pace ratings are rated "A" while his middle pace is rated 60 with an "F" score - low for this particular race class.

Next on the card are the results generated by Pick Pony's next two Artificial Intelligence engines. The results of these calculations often closely match the results from our primary Artificial Intelligence engine but may be used while handicapping races at specific tracks or even certain types of races. We are constantly improving our algorithms and new models are often tested in Algo's 2 and 3.

Note that the first card is for reference, reminding you what the numbers in each corner represent.

Finally, at the bottom of the card, we include two charts to help you "see" the race shape. The first chart illustrates the E1, E2, and LP paces on a single line, helping you visualize the total pace of the race. The second chart includes the same pace ratings for each horse, ordered according to the expected finish, as calculated by our proprietary AI algorithm.
