Thought Process wins Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes

Thought Process secured a victory in the Juvenile Fillies Turf stakes at Del Mar. This marked the sixth stakes win of the meet for rider Berrios, and his first in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf, bringing his total stakes wins at Del Mar to 17. Trainer D’Amato claimed his seventh stakes win of the meet, with his second win in the Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf (his first being with Comanche Country in 2022). The winning owners are Madaket Stables (Sol Kumin of New York City), Little Red Feather Racing (Billy Koch of Woodland Hills, CA), and their partners.

HECTOR I. BERRIOS (Thought Process, winner) - 

“I knew I wanted to go and close. She is a very fast filly so I try and go and switch positions. I take the last pull and she responds. She has grown; she is much more focused in the race and her stride is better in this race.”

PHILIP D’AMATO (Thought Process, winner) – 

“She does things real easy. Has a great mind on her and that helps. And Hector (Berrios) has given her some very nice rides. We got a nice ground-saving trip and Hector was able to angle out and run down the horse on the lead and not look back. She’s definitely going in the right direction and hopefully toward the Breeders’ Cup.”
